"Peram" story

Assalamualaikum
I’m back. It’s kind of playing “cak-cak” or like eating biscuit “ sekejap ada sekejap tak ade”. I have been struggling to finish my system development. Alhamdulillah, just waiting for the final approval to proceed and of course I will ask for all of you to help me. I’ll let you know the details later on. At the same time struggling to finish writing papers! Oh hectic!
Oh I have bought my new gadget! Ipad 2. I have to queue early and of course using my diplomacy and tricky method to buy 2 instead of one ipad albeit only one ipad per person! :D It’s super long queues with so many “geek “ people who can’t wait to enjoy the ipad 2. Instead of buying it directly from Apple store, I have decided to go to Pc World. Yet, it was a bit far from my place and I have to hire a taxi! I can’t imagine how excited all others to get a new ipad.

After using this ipad for few days, I presume it is a great gadget! Very sleek design with fast processor and you look super cool when using it :D It’s much lighter comparing the 1st generation of ipad. The new innovation that make people can’t wait to enjoy is for sure the front and back camera. So now you can use the facetime (Not really great pixel but it’s better than nothing). I think Apple might enhance certain features in the next series of Ipad. Or it will remain the same? Based on my reading from Internet, Apple had a typical problem with Camera Issues. But I’m not so sure whether this is fact or not! I back to defer!
It’s been 2 years in Plymouth now. I am enjoying myself and able to cope my life very well. It might be because I used to live in Uk before. Those experiences thought me to be a better person and be sensible on any occasion that I faced. Culture is not really a matter now comparing to the first timer people! I have met people who can’t even mix up with local people even afraid to speak English with them. Well they don’t bite you anyway. They will try to understand you at no cost!! Trust me, it might be difficult for you to understand them at first but then again through experience you learn how to be a good communicator! In a way, you have chosen abroad to pursue your study right? So bear with it! Learn and share the knowledge. Have fun and speak up!
Sooner or later I will be back to Malaysia. My country and the place I was born. Again mix feelings because I love to be in Uk and No doubt Malaysia. By any reason I think Malaysia will always be a better place to live…

Dunia ini ibarat sebuah pentas. Punya penghujung ada turun naiknya.ada ruang untuk berlari juga untuk bersembunyi. Begitu juga kehidupan kita. Ada masa suka dan duka. Hari ini kita gembira sambil tertawa mana tahu esok kita berduka nestapa. Kita dijadikan untuk mengisi kekosongan dunia memeriahkan suasana. Bicara yang lebih tepat khalifah di bumi tuhan yang agung. Bermakna kita memegang amanat untuk melestarikan kehidupan yang sesungguhnya hanya sementara. Tapi kita selalu alpa.. kita seringkali leka... kita punya agama untuk disandarkan.. setiap baris kata tingkah laku berasaskan pegangan kita... baik dan buruk perkara, kita yang tentukan... kita yang sebenarnya memilih untuk menjadi "siapa" dan bukan orang lain. walaupun sudah ditentukan tuhan. Namun kita berusaha untuk menjadi "siapa" yang kita idamkan. Angan-angan "siapa" itu tidak mustahil untuk dikejar. Kudrat dan akal fikiran yang tuhan anugerahkan kenapa tidak kita manfaatkan? adakah terlambat untuk merubah "siapa" itu sekarang lantaran zaman muda mudah disia-siakan. Yang punya generasi, didiklah mereka agar mereka tidak tergolong di kalangan mereka yang leka. Bentuklah mereka agar perjalanan hidup mereka dari kecil penuh keindahan walaupun punya suka dan suka. Curahhkan kasih didikan sempurna sifat ihsan dalam melestarikan kehidupan agar "siapa" yang dipilih oleh mereka itu nanti tidak akan pernah dikesali.

albeit it's taking so much of your time
Fight with your dilemma and never give up!
and up until now I can still keep smiling...

Ray of Hope...

I have never done this before. 4x meeting with my supervisors. Well frankly speaking you can’t set any appointment until you have something to present or something to talk about. At least some output from your reading or experiments. And meeting them made you shaking a bit! I am not local people and please note that English is not my first language. :D Alhamdulillah so far I manage to control everything and indeed improved my communication skills as well. Hectic week but a good progress! I strived to do the programming! The language of the exploration!

It happened! The dictatorship leader of Hosni Mubaraq should step down! This is requested by millions of Egyptian people. What will happen next? Do we want this to happen in our country? Do riots solve the problem since diplomacy unable to be used as a rationale platform? Or there is no diplomacy at all in Egypt? Wondering… and baffled! And now he did!!!

It’s a journey of life especially when you live abroad. I have been living my life in United Kingdom since 2006. I went back home for a while in 2008 and now return back to pursue my study. The journey that I have been through is not easy at all. Living abroad with differences of culture, ethnicity or background made me learnt to tolerate and to be sensible! When I was in London, I stayed in student accommodation. This incident still stood there on my mind! I was cooking anchovies and you Malaysian should know how it smells right? My flat mates (a British guy) suddenly pop up to the kitchen and quickly open the windows. He did ask me what’s cooking?? I said FISH (Instead of anchovies… Frankly speaking I forgot what’s “ikan bilis” in English that period of time :P so fish suddenly pop up into my mind) He said the smells was really bad! And I felt really guilty that time liked I did a really big mistake. Then again, another incident happened with the same person and at the same place. Suddenly it was a super hanyir(Fishy) in the kitchen! I just asked him what’s cooking then he replied pork with herbs! I said directly I don’t eat pork and I don’t like the smell but I can tolerate if you want to eat it. Moral values??

Now I am living in my own flat with a living room, 1 small bedroom with queen size bed, mini kitchen and quite nice toilet(Without bath tab ok) :P I would prefer to stay alone like this instead of sharing with other people. Well sometime you will need your own space. Doing PhD of course you really need your own space! Space to talk with yourself, space to think over the boundaries and space to relax! You make the mess then you clean it. There is no further argument with other people. You bear at your own cost! I loikeee!

Thinking!!!!

I have a quick glance on my blog. These thoughts suddenly came out:-

Emptiness. It’s not because I don’t want to write something but too many things to catch up. It’s unfair isn’t it? Well I believe that everyone has something to do … something to ponder etc…
Sometime I wish I could just turn back time to my kids generation. It’s so lovely to seat back and relaxes and of course I don’t have to think about what to do next. I bet everything in my mind during that time is playing, eating and fun! But this ponders me again? How long am I going to be like this? (My imagination only)

Life is not so hectic. Up until now I can still see the path. I have to facing this fate as it is my choice. I should be thankful to Allah for His blessing. Not forget to mention my family and friends for your moral supports.

Marriage. I would like to Congratulate to best buddies Shena & Izwa + kak Joen & Farouk. How I wish to go back and attend your “Big Day”. I enjoy the lovely pictures and I bet you guys are really prince and princess that day! Take these responsibilities and be brave to sail away on your journey as husband and wife. I will have to wait for mine.

Emotion. It is likely steady and stable. Keep thinking over the boundary. I have been working hard I guess but I still consider it as not enough. I am not saying not to be thankful but I know I can do much better than this. I keep praying that I have enough strength and courage to go. InsyaAllah. I can still smile . A smile is an inexpensive way to change your looks (Charles Gordy)

Coldness. It’s not about lacking of affection or enthusiasm! It’s really cold in Plymouth now. It keep me on and off for quite some time! It was so lucky as no more snow and icy roads. Well I would enjoy the snow fall moments but not when it starts to melt.

Faith. Have faith in our life.

Pre Boxing Day
It was the day Afiq came to Plymouth from Durham.
Durham? It might wonder you where it is and how to pronounce it right?
Durham located up to the midland (Near Newcastle)
I promised Afiq to bring him to the local best Fish & Chips. It’s worth of your money to enjoy the crispy battered fish! Fresh and yummilicious!
We went for Buffet Like a King in La Tasca. Imagine with only GBP10 you can eat everything. Well specifically we can only eat the salads and seafood. (Squid, prawn, potatoes) But it’s still good though.
The cozy and Spanish style restaurant made our day!
The pre Boxing day event: we went to Clark Village Somerset. I would say the location is in the middle of Exeter and Bristol. It took us roughly 2 hours from Plymouth.
Shopping spree?
Yes indeed!
Not buying much as I would safe my money for other occasion soon.
The road was super slippery due to the melted snow.
The scenery was fantastic with pristine snow everywhere! I couldn’t resist my eyes to enjoy the view!
No doubt that the “fun bit” was only for a short while…
Once it starts to melt… It might ruin your mood and of course the scenery :D Try it!!!

Boxing Day
Aha this time, we have decided to enjoy our Boxing day in London:The City of fashion.
As I have said in my previous post, I will always enjoy my day in London.
Our journey of boxing day started by paying almost GBP20 for the London black Cab from Bayswater to Picaddilly Circus.
We had to queue to enter Prada boutique. Super long queue in front of Gucci as well…
No queue for DKNY…
No sale for Burberry on the 26th!
Lunch/Dinner/Supper : All in one in Noodle Oodle for nasi itik n dumplings. Oh it’s a Chinese halal restaurant in Bayswater. You should give a try if you come here
The mission to conquer the Harrods on 27th!
We park our car really near the Harrods Building! Cost us likely GBP28.00! hahahahahahah!
Super shopping in Harrods: Please note that some of the item I bought for a friend of mine. :P
What can I say about the harrods??
It’s a big mall with so many branded items from the cheapest up to the most expensive one! Goodies, perfume, foods, etc.
Oh by the way, I have met so many Malaysian in Harrods, restaurant and any shop that I went. Meaning that Malaysian will be everywhere!!! Who said Our people can’t afford to spend their money in Uk??? Sapa?? I reckon that Malaysian spent for a bargain price!!!
The next part, we spent our quality time in Westfield. It is known as the largest shopping mall in Europe! Well not so bad!!! I like the facts that it have more designer boutique compared to us in Malaysia. And, the fact that the items are much cheaper in here… tabik!!!!

Dinner: This time we went to Jamie’s Italian restaurant..
Yes JAMIE OLIVER restaurant!
We have to wait for about 15 minutes to be served. Sadly, the waiter told us that most of seafood was not available due to out of stock. The popular dish in the resto was out of stock too. Oh it spoil the mood!
Oho… It gave us no choice rather than went out and thank you to JAMIE OLIVER ITALIAN! [FULLSTOP]. What a pity of us!
Luckily, I have made some homework before I came. I have proposed them to go to The Meat, Wine & Co. It’s the African western style restaurant with superb view and menu. This restaurant provide us with HALAL menu. Chicken, Beef, ribs etc. Price was slightly expensive.
The taste of foods was OK for me. I did order the chicken and prawn skewers with chips (Cost GBP24). Well folks you can give a try. The environment and the services was astonishing!!! I have no doubt of it!!!

I forgot to snap some pictures: I had nasi with chicken honey, fried beef and some rendang as well. Price?Not so bad! Service: Typical Malaysian style.
The last day, we went to Bicester Village Oxford
It’s known as the biggest Designer Outlet! Again with so many brands and so many people!!!
People said Shop till you drop and Indeed I did!
people enjoy the sweetness of the shopping event regardless of raining, fogging and cold weather .
It might be a last minute shopping for them just before the VAT increase to 20 % from 17.5 % for the time being!
I manage to grab some shirts and few bags! Huh

In the name of Allah. The most gracious and merciful.
We live our life not for a long time. As we only borrow it from the hands of God. Put differently, we are going to meet Him as the creator. May Allah forgive our sin and whom shall obey to Allah will get benefit on the Day of Judgment.

Scene 1
After the subuh prayer, I received a message from my elder sister. “Pak Teh meninggal. I’m in Jb for a court case. Mama and abah heading to Ipoh with Yob”. It just a simple message nevertheless made me suddenly quiet and shocked. A sorrow strikes! My late uncle or I called him as Pak Teh. He passed away left my aunty and His 2 sons. I felt guilty as I can’t go back on the burial day. Al Fatihah for him.

Scene 2
A colleague of mine. After a tennis match last week. He told me that his wife was not feeling very well due to on and off of fever. I said it might be normal for certain people as we are now in winter season but not for a pregnant woman. The day after, he brought his wife to Derriford Hospital for a checkup. After a few scan/consultation: It’s confirmed that his wife miscarriage. I feel pity for them. A young married couple who has just arrived to start their new life in Plymouth. Such a big impingement for them. Be strong my friend!

Scene 3
A colleague of mine. She is pregnant (7 months). She already prepared some food to visit a friend in the hospital but suddenly she was the one who admitted to the hospital due to her kidney problem. (infection). Be strong my dear friend.
3 scenes happened one after another.

I am in the mood of not feeling well emotionally. I feel pity to my colleagues and sad for the lost of my late uncle. May Allah give us guidance to follow His Path. Ameen ya Rabbalalamin.

Last week was really a busy week for me!
Almost finish my programming task and report as well.
I hope to submit before the Xmas eve. Wish me luck then :D
Nothing much to say about my event last week.
Oh Saturday morning I played tennis with waque and Afham. Guess what??
we played tennis in 5 degree temperature!!! Seriously!!!!
It almost 3 hours ok. :P
That night was the X factor finale (1st round) before the elimination.
I voted for Matt for sure :D
The result was yesterday and YESSSS Matt won! Guess what??? The organizer reveal that Matt won almost every week of public's vote !!!! hahahahah :D

Whilst watching the show, I prepared the Fried "Popia" with Quorn fillings (Vegetarian) I substitute with the minced meat. Taste: awesome!

It’s really a cold winter. Up until now I can still survive… Oh I will survive (Gloria Gaynor)
If you read the newspaper or you watch tv (BBC), they mentioned that it the earliest snow fall ever. Having said that, it became one of the worst heavy snow falling especially in north of England. A friend of mine in Sheffield said its very thick snow! It’s nice to enjoy it now but not after it starts to melt. I couldn’t agree more. Oh colleagues in Birmingham as well, please enjoy your snow period (Full stop)!
Frankly speaking, in Plymouth it’s quite difficult to have snow fall except last year! I was told it has been few years since the last snow fall. So ideally, Plymouth people will be super excited to enjoy snow. (My imagination wink!!) It was quite a heavy one but not as bad as in Midland. Albeit now we don’t have snow yet, but anything can happen during winter season. For me, it is too early to predict but I wish to see snow again in Plymouth. Oh my wish…
This season will see you gas bill increase rapidly compared to the other season. If monthly I will only spend more or less £10-15, I would expect it will become more than that this time. Heater will be operated at night before I go to sleep. Oh by the way, my flat is on the ground floor. Well if you live on the ground floor its much colder compare to the people live in 1st floor or the 2nd. When you heat you house, it seems you heat the entire flat as well (Conceptually) as the heat will go up. Of course I will enjoy the heat too. At the same time I’m helping others. (Sedekah amalan mulia )
Hungry? Erm I have no doubt that you will feel hungry quite frequent as it is cold. I just enjoyed my Twining light green tea and black olives crackers as a backup in school.

Weekend: leisure time. Cooking and have fun with colleagues! Reading some

(Note: Maghrib will be around 4.15 p.m and Isyak will be around 6.05 p.m. Officially it’s night. )
Its super cold at night compare to the day. Wearing glove? Oh it’s a must now, especially when there is a strong wind from the sea!!! This time I start to think of I need to go back for all summer time season in Malaysia :P (Berangan nak dok dlm air cond jugak bila balik… :D).
Conclusion during winter time: I live my life likely in the fridge. Sekian!

Oh so many things to catch up:-
1. I hope to see my experiment to progress well . (Full working system, presentation, ethical committee and Run full system)
2. A visit from a colleague from Malaysia soon
3. A visit from a colleague from Durham
4. A visit from my best buddy a.k.a brother from Paris!!! ( Comment alez vous monsieur?)
5. And the relax and fun time in London for Boxing day by the end of December.
6. Gamelan: I join the Gamelan group in Plymouth. They might perform it soon. Practice!!!
7. Last but not list a visit from colleague from Sheffield as the opening ceremony of 2011 hahahahah :P

Saturday : 8/11/2010
Last weekend was a really fun! Very good weather to eat and to enjoy sport activities. I did invited some of my colleagues to come to my house. (Seems we have very few Malaysian here) Oh by the way I invited Gina as well ( an Indonesian friend ). We had a great lunch session with various types of food. (e.g. I cooked sambal tumis ikan bilis, sotong tauchu chinese style, baked potato with thai sweet chilly cheese, Gina: Green thai Curry, Bard: ayam panggang special, Kak Mal: Nasi jagung and chicken tikka and some other kudapan) Oh for the desert I baked my Royal chocolate banana cake. I bet the taste was awesome kot. After spending 5 days working from 9-7 almost everyday you might need to take a break! Frankly speaking during normal days I didn't cook much. I meant I try to make it as simple as possible. Normally, I spent likely 1 hour for lunch with some colleagues. so You can't have the food to be so "fine" enough by preparing a simple dish to enjoy in a short period of time.

Oh look like a diary isn't it? But only for this chapter. I woke up quite early to do house cleaning. Well its not that much but I enjoy do it once a week! Keep your home sweet home tidy and neat. Not only you can feel it but you can also see it right? Continue reading a chapter of book whilst watching tv. The sun shines on the righteous!!! Thinking of my research??? Yes but try to minimize it as I really need a good rest. Body mind and soul. after Zuhur prayer I went to play Tennis with waque, daus and afham. Yeah its wilbledon Plymouth style competition. my pair was Afham. :D
end up fail again to win... 6-2, 6-4 , 4-6, 6-3. Well I would blame the court! slippery!! LOL :P hahahahhahahah Enjoy my day very much. Next match it ours.

I haven’t found courage to write for long time due to many constraints! Life is not yet a miserable but almost I guess. I’m not trying to be negative but it happened!(Before August, 2010)

(After early October, 2010)
I’m back with full of courage with full of energy and strategy. I really enjoyed my holiday back in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I couldn’t agree more “Home sweet home… and there is no “place” like home”. Abah, mama, kak yong and eno I love you people so much. Thanks for the Doa and support! . Apart from that, thanks so much to Kak cita, Kak Joen, Rizal, Kaer, Kak Zu and others. Helping me during my sister’s engagement, Trip to Singapore, makan2 session, lepak2 session, crabing2 session etc…I really can’t wait to be back again with more thrill adventure! I am sure.
After 3 weeks return home to Plymouth, I feel more confident with myself. I am totally not a different person from what I used to be but I am positively would like to change the way I evaluate things and scenario, be more thankful, appreciate every single days and live my life to the fullest. May Allah guide me following His Path. Ameen.
I start my normal working day as a student from 9 -7 Monday to Friday. It’s unusual for PhD student to go to the faculty everyday but not for me. Everyone has their own choice and it’s up to them to choose which one suits them the best. The most important thing, whether you can spend the quality time or not whilst you are in the faculty. Having said that, some of colleague only come to the faculty once or twice a week. Sometime Only when they want to meet their supervisors. As long as you show a good progress then it should be fine . Big grin!!!
Insyaallah I will keep posting some interesting news or thoughts. Hope I can still share something with my friends. I really miss writing and posting pictures. I will keep u people up to date. My journey of life is back on route now. Sorry for a long period of resting. Hibernating season is off for me now even it’s already autumn. Hahahahaha. Take care all and keep in touch.

Study: alhamdulillah im in the preparing more to submit My transfer report draft from mphil to phd. Few chapters done and a chapter to go. Its the time where you can start to feel the beauty of doing research! The complexity of academic writing.. The challeging gaining factual and present it in a report. It might look simple but truste me it needs more than that. To certain extend you feel confident with your own thoughts skills. I mean here your end results. But after getting the results it change!! Yes absolutely change!!! Whether from good to bad, either or this is a process of learning. Its not a time to give up. Take it in a positive manner. Work it out in some way to improve it. Insyaallah you'll be better. Im saying this because ive been through and even it is a continuos process. Never stop learning n never give up!!! I inspired myself and hope you too!!!

Im off to London this week. Sort of holiday mode! Release me from any works. Hope to see good sunshine in hyde park! Eating lovely foods. Shopping? Will think about it. :D ok folks. A simple update from me. See you all later! Have a great day!!!

It has been a long day for me
It had to stop from blogging for a while due to unfinished “business”
Having said that, I am quite free now..
Meaning its time to blogging again… cheers!!! :D

So from where should I start?
Wales trip
I went to Snowdonia national park in Wales
With Linda n Badrul
We stayed in small cottage house age liked 200 years old… (Renaissance? vs Reformation? vs medieval?)
You’ll decide…
It was a lovely and super nice cottage house!
Affordable price for only GBP200 per week inclusive all utilities…
The fireplace was not so big… But its enough to make warm us in the house..
Well the tricky part was to light the fire albeit you had the “lighters” :D

Things which you always see: castle, seaside, Cornish ice cream, Flowers, gloomy days, raining!!! :P
An unforgettable experience for me when we had our fishing event
It was raining for almost 6 hours and guess what happened?
We stayed “comfortably” waiting for the fish to eat out bait
GBP14.5 inclusive ( A tube of fresh worms from the oven :D Ngeeee + Fishing rod + maximum 3 Trout (If you manage to catch it)
Yup luckily for us…. 3 trout on our hands…
Walaaaa wehhh!
Trout menu: 1.Grill with turmeric +butter n lemon (includes with air asam) Kudos to Linda for the cilia pi from Malaysia… Oh please!!! :P

The trip went quite well except for the gloomy weather..
Final day we stopped in Cardiff city Centre..
As usual I went to Hard Rock café Cardiff, Millennium Stadium and Cardiff castle
We also had the halal buffet at Red Dragon Centre… Nice food… Nice place!! Too much to eat!!! :D

So after a long day, its time to warm up your engine…
Hahahahahah As usual, not an easy process though…
Frankly speaking, my head always thinking of my research my survey

Thursday
A visit from 2 of my closed friends (Shena from Warwick and K Farah from Kl)
Oh Tq very much for the things.. especially the food! Daun Kesom (I used to call as daun kak som) hehehehhehe no offence to real kak som!
well they stayed at my house and i brought them to tour around Plymouth and Exeter.
1st day we went to Hoe
A must visit place in Plymouth. Pictures session as usual
over acting? Yes They were but not me :D The weather seems to be nice during our "photohraphing" session. But it suddenly changed to gloomy... and then raining all nite long!
I have decided to go for Fish and Chips near the Barbican... (Fast and quite cheap)
But
i have changed my mind as i walked through one Italian restaurant..
I've been there with Afiq and Kak Mazni before. Again
the food awesome and really delicious!
we ordered Seafood pan pizza, nachos with cheese, Seafood spaghetti, Salad and onion bread! yeap
its affordable price and worth of money.. Please have a visit :) trust me folks
Before that, my real intention was to bring them to taste a great cornwall ice cream.. (kononnya) but sadly its winter and most of the ice cream shop closed.
oh sangat unfair! Clotted cream ice cream can only be seen in the picture lah nampak gayanya...
At nite, i cooked asam pedas ayam
as Kak Farah brought some Daun Kesom.
Tq kak Joen for the Daun kesom... we had a simple and "light" dinner
with some prawn and squid sambal... and ulam2... :P

Weather : not so bad.. Windy and mildly cold..:D

i cant say much when walking with girls..

Happy Eid
I know.. yeah i know...
it has been ages...
i didn't mean to stop from blogging
but so many things need to be done..
well student! i mean life as a student!

Weekend in Birmingham
I met my colleagues from Birmingham and Sheffield
and my junior from Warwick
what a day!
The journey took me up to 4 hours by train
from Plymouth to Birmingham
Hana(Birmingham) and Shimah(Sheffield) both are doing computer science PhD research while Shena with her MSc in Finance (Warwick)
It was groovyyyy .. yeah!! i admit it!
even though it was raining during our trip to Central Birmingham
but it didn't stopped us at all to laugh, took pictures and to eat
again.. main agenda eat and eat and eat!!!
Yeah it was German Market at night in Birmingham.... German in Birmingham?? market??
Don't ask me.. Go figure! :p
As far as i'm concern Birmingham is the 2nd largest muslims community
after London... Yeah... Lots of halal food.. subway halal... nandos halal.. dominos halal... lots of halal butcher...
what i mean here = SUPER DUPER EASY TO GET HALAL FOOD!

It was a lovely day...
we went for Eid prayer at the nearest mosque at 9 am
Well I managed to do my open house..

i know it has been ages..
I am sorry for not updating with my latest info!
Yes, it has been a tough and quite tiring month after Eid..
Even though i spent some time went to certain place
To spend my time in front of my laptop and writing on my blog is not as easy task!
you must wondering why? :D
I need to focus and concentrate though!

Eid
Alhamdulillah it went very well...
Manage to complete fasting in Ramadhan and 6 days fasting in Syawal.
Afiq and i made some cookies : Choc chips, Raisin n oat cookies, Honey cornflakes in cup and cornflakes cookies!
Menu for raya:Malay rice cake(nasi impit), peanut sauce, chicken rendang, instant lemang, fried noodle, spicy potatoes with anchovies, Bread butter pudding with strawberry and blueberry etc...
After the Eid prayer everyone gathered at my house as their 1st destination
Yeah... i enjoyed the day very much..

Trip to Salisbury- Stonehenge and Old Sarum
I join university trip and only paid GBP15 for the transportation.
It took me roughly 3 hours from Plymouth to Salisbury, Southampton.
I bet you people have heard about stonehenge.
This was my 2nd visit. I went to Stonehenge for the 1st time when i was studying in London in 2006. Yes nothing much change! its just a rocks!
Yeap meaningful for British people as their historical ancient symbol.
People all around the world comes here to enjoy view of Stonehenge!

My journey to Penzane, Cornwall - Lands End
What do you understand from the name?
Yes if you define it literally you will get the real meaning of it
Most people would say the Lands End is the most southerly area of Great Britain!
Its not actually.
The most southerly area is known as Lizard Point! well i've never been there!
But i bet its there. :P
Lands End view was fantastic!
Super windy... on top of the hill... Superb high cliff...

i will start with my journey to Vienna...
i went to Vienna from 24 July until 8 August 2009 for my IPICS
Intensive programme on information adn communication technology
in unviversity of technology Vienna...
Yup 2 weeks in Vienna!
what a lovely days!!!! hahahhaa
met new friends new culture new style new environment...
I enjoyed it very much....
i would consider to come back once again to bring my colleagues!
well it was a crash course agenda for me!
revision on what have your learnt in your Msc...

I went to Eden Project Yesterday
Organized by Postgraduate Society...
The journey was about 1 hour plus... well not so fay from central Plymouth
Woke up early that morning to prepare something for breakfast and lunch..
Vegetarian Murtabak and tuna sandwich
I sat beside one Greek guy on the bus...
Just a little conversion as i felt dizzy along the way to Eden... hahahhahaha
You know road in Britain... Small narrow small roundabout crooked country road...
yeah i blamed the road! :P
Tq to Mr Driver who drove the bus safely...
A little bit about Eden Project
well .. All about environment...

"It is in a 50-metre deep crater which represents the size of 35 football pitches
There are 2 gigantic geodesic conservatories as mentioned largest in the world!
Inside the most ambitious and outstanding environmental project that the UK has ever seen.
Each biome is a wealth of different climate zones, from waterless desert to steamy jungle, complete with thriving plants, mini houses/cultured house etc... i will tell you more via pictures!
My experiences - Rainforest and Meditranean Biome
The mission/objectives is to promote the understanding of the vital relationship between people and plants.
It will help us understand how to manage our resources responsibly."

Yeah it sounds simple but i bet you the place was awesome!

When you entered the rainforest Biome (The white bubble stuff) its getting hot and hot and hot..
they try to simulate the real temperature of rainforest!
Seriously you will sweating like crazy!!! (Mat/Minah salleh semua kelihatan seperti sedang terbakar.. merah2 belake hehehhehheeh) :P

Salamz all,
I am going to mix up stuff in this entry...
based on true stories...
We address this man as ayah, abah, papa, etc...
what ever method you use to it, it gives you the same meaning and will indicate to the same person

My father - my abah..
Born in perak. 6 out of 13 siblings and stand as the eldest son in the family.
Yeah he came from such a big happy family.
I have no doubt most of my uncle and aunties staying in Kg but i adore them very much...
Lovely people, caring and for sure "happening"!
Interesting part, once "balik kg" abah will be very excited because he cant wait to eat the food especially "tempoyak" (Ripe Durian) cook by my aunts... Mak Teh/Wah/Mak Yang/Wan chu Very awesome smells though! :P

Abah was the army before he retired early and continue worked with firm...
When abah's health not very well, he was advised by the doctor to retire again.
yeah abah was sad when he heard that
as he knew he had lots of responsibilities to raise us..
He think a lots and his health condition was not good.
For him, did nothing meant miserable...
but abah still had his patience
My mum is always there to support him.

I was in main campus(local unis) that time
my elder sis already came back from Uk during that time and my younger sister
was in her secondary school.

It was a day before my last exam paper.
I got a phone call from my mum
she told me that abah will be admitted to IJN(National Heart Institude) ...
cause : Coronary artery diseases
solution : Coronary bypass surgery
tears fall from my eyes...
why didn't they told me earlier?
why must now?
what have i done?
Ya Allah, Please help me. Give me your mercy....

Yeah, no more focus on exam stuff... no more books.... no more notes...
i did my exam quickly the next day...
flew back to Kl after exam.

At the hospital abah can still smile...with his jokes... his laugh...
No appetite to eat and he wanted to talk with us a lot...
I knew deep inside his heart, he love me and our family more than he love himself...
he pretended that nothing happened...

The operation day
From his room to the operation theatre...
abah istighfar... recite doa...
Before he went in, we hug abah...asked for forgiveness...blessings
All of us cries... my uncle.... aunties... abah's best friends...
waited for long hours....
until everything done.

At the ICU
Abah opened his eyes...
alhamdulillah...
abah smiled and hold my hands...
he said to the nurse
"he is my son. My only son. I am really proud of him"
again i cried but quickly i wipe my tears ...
i advised abah not to talk much...

Now abah is feeling much better after several years of operation
but still under medication
he ate lots of medicine and supplements
Yesterday i called abah and my mum said abah had a fever, cough and tiredness
abah voice a bit weak but he pretended liked nothing happen
as usual he will laugh and made some jokes,
he didnt want me to worry of him...
Only God knew deep inside my heart that time!

People,
i am not shame to say how much i love my father
i am not shame to say i want to be like my father... how he love and respect my mum...
how he became a warrior in our family... sacrifices many things in his life from his chilhood until now....because of him i am here now...
I do believe that you feel the same out there...

I always doa may you and mama will live in full of blessing... dunia akhirat

Trout Fish head Curry

I'm kinda mixed up with so many thing in my head now!
for this posting, i have decided to mix it up with a-z
i mean "no" correlations of story....but to certain extend Yes it have! hahahaha :P
Yesterday i cooked and invited "single" status people came to my house for a lovely lunch
I cooked Fish Head curry(Trout Fish), Kailan with salted fish, Sweet Chillies anchovies with potatoes... Yup done... Lovely food lovely day in someway not a nice weather... it was raining outside and pretty cold!
Woke up early that morning... i went to Plymouth market to meet uncle "Fishmonger"!!!
Yeah Trout was the best choice for the curry!
enjoy some pictures... i have learnt the recipe from my mum...
U needed cumin, fennel and fenugreek(halba), curry powder, some chilly powder, curry leaves....
Mixed well and done!

Antecedently,
i have tried to cook chicken sate as a preliminary project! Details soon...
Yup we have made it! successfully...
Complete package of sate with authentic peanut sauce, cucumber & "nasi impit" - boiled in the bag of rice.

Oh by the way
When Linda came and visited me few weeks ago
we cooked nasi lemak!
Malaysian famous dish... Full package with anchovies and chicken rendang!
More fats more carbohydrate.... hahhahahahahah

oh its all about food.
Normally i spend my time in university from morning until evening...
basically for my research and development stuff...
Yeah i try to focus even sometimes its hard to do
Reading journals articles really need full concentration...
You need to be focus and love what ever you read in front of you! Trust me... if you hate it, it will end up with disappointment...
so don't jeopardize yourself... just enjoy it
Critical? yeah sort of but it become part of learning process while doing research....
i am kind of new people venture into R & D stuff!
and now i try to love it... sail it... and bring it....

Oh this is very simple entry!
It was Bank Holiday in Uk.
All of us decided to spent our splendid time in Bournemouth...
Well it was not so far from Plymouth... Almost 3 hours! :P
The biggest trip by small Malaysian community went outside of Plymouth...
It was fun and i relished it very much.. Will do it again soon!
Weather forecast - expected to rain at 4.00 pm
but alhamdulillah everything went smoothly! The sun shone brilliantly... so hot!! even hotter than Malaysia... (im not sure actually) lol
My task was simple! cooked Fried Mee hoon. Some other groups with Fried noodle, nasi lemak and chicken for BBQ.
The journey from Plymouth was really delirious... as this was my first time in Bournemouth!
Green grass on a huge field, small and vintage cottage with "hay" roof(im not so sure whether its hay or not but so i assumed it) and nice hot weather!
I have learnt something through this journey!
Appreciate your environment!!!! because we only have one earth... No more place after earth!
meaning once its fouled, its our responsibilities to keep it clean!
Appreciate your experiences and friends!!!
Today's journey will not be the same as before! Enjoy every moment and cheer up!

I am really bless and greatful!
My mum sent me lots of stuff! Well i don't have to describe every single things here!!!
Yup definitely food! weiredooo? ahaaa
Very keen to look inside the package!
Its weired actually... why? i release my stress by cooking! Cooking anything which i think taste awesome! simple and manageable.... Yups that me!
and for the time being i am going to go with "that" flow!
For the past few days, all of us here in My office a.k.a department kept talking about Stress
Well, one of my friend was admitted to the hospital due to his stress problem! that was what people said.... basically we didn't knew the main reason. We just made an assumption!
Yet the probability still there!
This become one of the challenges that we have to face in order to be PhD student! True and why not go figure by yourselves! I mean it!!!! not trying to be cynical...
I spoke with Shue about this matters and we hope that "he" will be ok very soon! Amin!!!
Oh back to my main story,
I was so happy when linda text me mentioned that she was on her way to Plymouth from Paddington! At last she arrived safely!!!!
On Sunday, we spent our evening ate at Pizza...(thanks to K mazni, Shue n Linda)
It was raining while we went out of the restaurant but then the rain suddenly STOP
"hooorayyyy" i said! Time to jump at the Hoe!
Linda, Shue and I walked together... Lovely evening splendid weather ...
The breeze was cool by the sea! and Sea Gull all over the place...
Linda was hypnotized by the beauty of Plymouth sea scenery! ye ke?
Yeah why not you give a shot! Please come and enjoy it!
It was pleasant evening for us... laughing... smiling.... and the best of the best.... JUMPING! as seen on the pictures.. enjoy!

I went to Natwest bank at the town centre
Long Queue! Yeap it was!
One lady talked to me and said " I guess we have to stand here for ages as nobody entertain us"
Me? Smile... i said "yeah i guess"
After 30 minutes, it was my turn!
I told the officer about my account's status.- change the address-need a new card-standing order to Halifax- etc-
Then done 1st phase.
Start the 2nd phase.
The officer asked me where i came from and i said "Malaysia"
"Oh F1...
The raining F1.
It was a bad day.......Twin Tower" he said
"Yeah it was held in Sepang Malaysia. Raining season. But overall its great." i smile.
"erm... Well What do you have in Malaysia? Good place to go? is it safe? DO YOU HAVE MCDONALS/BURGER KING? he question.

Well a good friend of mine also told me about a similar story. What say you????

End up i said " Do come to Malaysia and you gonna love to live there than here. Cheers mate!"

Yes i admit that i am really in busy mode...
but nothing can stop me from going to Astar devate in Univ Malaya...
i still have enough time to meet Dr Miss and Kak Nizah at Rumah University's cafe for breakfast!

the motion : Excellent!
Overall : Good
Debaters : Fair performances .. some of them really talented...
Organizers : Good
Food : Slightly Fair :P
i really enjoy my 3 days in UM
meeting with some talented debaters, ex debaters from various university...
Yups Sue - Ex UTM... Astar was my 2nd platform in debate... in a year of 2001 after Royal 2000 in UPM.... Agree with Sue everything change! very much.... quality.. skills....attitudes...
i hope that this new generation debaters take every single comments/advises positively instead of blaming other people....
Learn from the mistakes.... Learn how to win other peoples heart...
Use you brain wisely instead of talking without thinking....!
I was happy to see lots of new comers ... UTP, MMU, UPHM etc....
InsyaAllah before i proceed with my PhD in uk, i might go to UTM for integrity....
I hope the debate's spirit among debaters will always be there... positive attitudes, full of charisma!!!!

Hmmmm tidy up my room.
Saw one vintage album in the drawer... then lots of picture... Yeap vintage one!
By the way my parent sent me to our neighbour's house which is not far from my house... (nenek's house)
Nenek raised all of my siblings plus some other siblings from different family.. hehehhehe make it a bit complicated!
I went to nenek's house and she gave me these pictures....
i said i wanted to borrow and made some copies...
Nenek cried when she started to tell me about the past... All an unforgettable moment with me and other kids in the house...
Yeap...Yeap... i am the one who are chubby, cute and adorable...always kah kah kah kah~!
even until now....
Stayed with them until 5 years old. I thank god for giving me the oppurtunity to meet a great family. They raised me just liked their own family members. Alhamdulillah....
My parent went to perform the Hajj. Approximately 45 days. Mama called me this morning.
Both of them in good condition. Madinah a bit cold. This Friday they will go to Mekah after spent more than a week in Madinah.

Gosh my trip to Kuala Selangor Nature Park and for sure
i didnt miss Kg Kuantan Fireflies....
The journey from kl took me almost 2 hours due hectic of the traffics!
erm....

The location was in the centre of Kuala Selangor and easy access by anyone!
a bit confusing on the entrance from the main road!

Species of monkeys, birds, otters, crabs,! This was the only place that had 4 types of mud skipper in the world! i cant even recognized the difference!
The scenery, surroundings... cant describe by words! -pictures-

I stayed in A-frame chalet! Only Rm25 per day with basic equipments! Nice one!!!
Thrill wo! hahahhaha

That nite
spent almost 2 hours in Kg Kuantan
I remember the little fairies in the bedtime story book!
Maybe the fireflies looked the same... poyos!
With Rm10 , the boatman will rowe along the river to show the fireflies(Kelip-kelip)
oh by the way, these species only live on berembang tree
they told me that only 2 places in the world where you can find fireflies
Malaysia and Brazil- Amazon River maybe... :)

"Following yesterday's College board meeting we can now release the
degree classification results. The ISG does not release the actual exam
marks because responsibility for this lies with the Registry.

Any student that is classified as a RESIT should contact me so that I
can advise them on their resit options.

1. Exam marks should be available for access via the portal
approximately one week from now.

2. The exam office should be posting the official transcripts
approximately two weeks from now.

3. Resit students will receive their resit instructions in the New
Year.
IT IS VITAL THAT ALL RESIT STUDENTS DO AN ONLINE SIGNUP THROUGH THE
PORTAL AFTER RECEIVING THESE INSTRUCTIONS.

4. The degree certificate itself will be posted much later (last year
they were posted in May/June). "

Conclusion : I managed to get Merit for my MSc... Alhamdulillah praised to Allah... Thanks very much guys for the support. :) I need to work harder for my next stage... again... wish me luck and pray for the success!
